Escrito por Lawrence Ampofo, PHD pela Universidade de Londres e diretor da <a href=\"http:\/\/www.semanticaresearch.com\/Semantica_Research\/Vision.html\" target=\"_blank\">Semantica Research<\/a>, o artigo &#8220;<strong>The Social life of real-time social media monitoring<\/strong>&#8221; foi lan\u00e7ado ano passado e publicado na revista <a href=\"http:\/\/www.participations.org\/Volume%208\/Issue%201\/contents.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Participations &#8211; Journal of Audience &amp; Reception Studie<\/a>s.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nReal-time social media, social media that publish information as soon as it is available, has\u00a0become a mainstay in contemporary society with the widespread adoption of status updates,\u00a0tweets and blogging. In response to this growth of data, specific methodologies and software\u00a0tools have been developed that aggregate and analyse the saliency of such content.\u00a0However, despite the wealth of resources available, researchers face significant challenges in\u00a0accurately and ethically conducting such an endeavour. This essay takes as its starting point\u00a0the conception that real-time social media are artefacts of social and cultural interactions\u00a0online. The analysis of such real-time information is therefore problematic as ethical and\u00a0methodological issues suitable for such research are currently not well developed. Two case\u00a0studies from BBC Mundo\u2019s Your Say discussion boards contextualise the complexity inherent\u00a0in the above issues within the framework of the BBC World Service\u2019s mission to foster a\u00a0global conversation. The analysis of discussions hosted by BBC Mundo highlights the\u00a0intricate nature of correctly analysing such content and underscores the need for new\u00a0methodological processes, in addition to heightened analytical sensitivity, in interpreting the\u00a0results of real-time social media analyses.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apresento mais um artigo sobre monitoramento de m\u00eddias sociais.
